Each member of the 3SA Swiss Self-Storage Association:
- Manages a self-storage facility with individual, secure premises, protected from the view of others, to which only the customer or persons authorised by the customer have access;
- Manages a reliable, monitored access control system for entering and leaving the building;
- Protects storage premises with an alarm system that alerts surveillance staff in the event of an intrusion outside opening hours.
- Provide clean, dry, adequately ventilated storage rooms that are frost-free and condensation-free;
- endeavour to prevent the spread of parasites, rodents and other vermin in the facilities
- Manages depots that comply with local building and personal safety regulations. The Self-Storage facility must be equipped with an automatic fire detection system that alerts the fire brigade in the event of a fire;
- Use energy rationally and behave in an environmentally friendly manner;
- Maintain all technical installations as recommended to avoid accidents;
- Makes the infrastructure and trolleys for transporting goods available to customers free of charge;
- Offers all potential customers a service that meets their needs and provides full information on the size of the premises, rates and rental period. Provides information on prohibited goods;
- Checks the customer's identity before offering a contract (copy of a valid identity document) and endeavours to avoid any illegal or criminal activity in the self-storage facility;
- Respond promptly to any complaints and try to find an amicable solution to any disputes;
- Undertakes to comply with data protection provisions and does not give out any information about customers and their tenancy;
- Employs friendly and helpful staff who endeavour to facilitate the administrative process.
