What if I want to access my stored objects at short notice?
Each self storage company will have different regulations regarding access – a number of facilities in Switzerland offer 24/7 access, while others open normal business hours. Check the details with your preferred self storage provider before you use the facilities.
How long do I have to rent the space for?

What can I store?
You can store most items, however Swiss Self Storage facilities operate under Swiss law and as such it is illegal to store objects such as firearms, illegal substances (drugs, explosives), dangerous weapons or anything else that is illegal or that could be harmful to public health. Depending on the operator and facilities being used, it is also not advised to store food stuffs and other perishable items.
Will my possessions be safe?
The 3SA Membership Standard requires a site to have CCTV monitoring systems, a secure perimeter and to meet all fire and safety regulations.
Will my storage space be private?
Yes. Your storage unit is protected by your own padlock and only you retain the keys.
Will I need to insure my items?
Yes. The goods in your storage unit remain your responsibility. You will be required to have insurance cover against loss or damage to your goods during the period of storage. Most operators will be able to offer you insurance and all will be able to assist you; it is normally the case that your home contents insurance will not cover your goods in storage. If your goods are worth storing, they should be insured!
Is self storage only useful for big items?
No, there are rooms and areas available for very large items as well as locker sized units.
